Julie Gebhards: I am a grace doubter, on the road to recovery. I have lived under the weight of guilt, shame and fear for way too long, and I am finally fighting to find grace. I am a church girl. Have been all my life. But I have somehow missed a few essentials, namely GRACE. I am a pastor's wife. I feel the pressure. I am a mother of six kids. More pressure. I have to get it right for the sake of their souls. The weight of this can smother and crush me and drive me nearly to despair. I am a child of God. This is one of the very things I have doubted and still do struggle to believe whole-heartedly. Ask me tomorrow if I am a child of God and I may answer differently. Yes, I am that feeble. I am resolved. Resolved to not stay in the place where I have been- a place of fear, guilt and doubt. Resolved to not hide what is real and true about me. Resolved to pursue a greater understanding of grace. Resolved to be open with my struggles and to try to help others who may share my struggles. Resolved to find peace through Christ alone. Grace alone. Scripture alone. For His glory alone.
